Gordon Low high quality EPDM rubber swimming pond liners.
Unlike a chemically treated swimming pool, a natural swimming pond offers the benefit of swimming in naturally clean and clear water, surrounded by the beautiful plants and wildlife normally associated with ponds.
So what is the difference between a wildlife pond and a swimming pond?
In nature, a freshwater pool is kept clean by the natural occurance of plants and micro-organisms which break down and absorb organic waste. This basic natural principle is reproduced in the design of the swimming pond which is divided into two main areas, one deep zone for swimming and a second, shallow regeneration zone comprising Aquatic plants and graded aggregates which form the biological filter. Water is pumped through the filter medium and returns to the pond clean and clear.
Typically a swimming pond is divided into two equal size zones, a deep swimming area and a natural filtration area (regeneration zone). The most popular pond liner we supply for swimming ponds is SealEco Greenseal EPDM and Firestone PondGard EPDM. Both are rugged heavy duty membranes ideally suited for the application.
The Firestone QuickSeam™ adhesive joining system is particularly useful for formal shapes and sump construction. We also fabricate box-welded (tailor-made) liners for swimming pond applications.
A regeneration zone prior to planting resembling a beach
Once planting in the regeneration zone becomes established, the natural beauty of the pond can be appreciated from the land and from within the pond.....
