Attenuation Lagoons For New Housing

Turtle Productions has been appointed by the main groundworks contractor to line up to five new attenuation lagoons serving multiple housing developments in Gillingham, Dorset.

The lagoons are situated within an area potentially affected by flooding, creating a number of unique design challenges. To provide a durable and reliable solution, the lagoons have been lined using our highly flexible EPDM geomembrane.

Up to 1.9 metres of surcharge material will be placed over the membrane, helping to ensure the lagoons remain securely in position during future flood events and providing greater resilience against the effects of climate change.

Ponds 2 and 3 have now been completed, with Pond 3 pictured below. The remaining three lagoons are scheduled for completion by the end of September 2026.
