Water Attenuation Liners
Commercial drainage systems used to control the rate, volume and quality of storm water run-off from commercial development projects are referred to as Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). These systems are intended to help avoid an increase in flood risk and will help to maintain natural water flow by encouraging storm water to soak into the ground or, where that is not reasonably practicable, will discharge it into watercourses or surface water/combined sewers at a controlled rate. These methods include balancing ponds, attenuation ponds and soakaways all using Water Attenuation Liners.

Rainwater is also collected in underground attenuation tanks created using a box-welded EPDM liner, plastic attenuation crates and then sealed with an EPDM flap or lid. This type of construction is often used for SUDS applications relating to new housing developments, car parking and other controlled soak away systems.
