Turtle Productions – Fire Safety Lagoon

A new fire safety lagoon was required for this EFW Energy from Waste plant being built at Ellesmere Port.

Whilst the pit will double for attenuation, it needs to remain dry just in-case there’s a fire, so they can hold and then test the resultant water collection and appropriately process before releasing it.

EPDM GeoGard is perfect for this, being 100% UV stable and able to withstand exposure to any weather, guaranteed. Consequently, we leave excess liner in the lagoon for it to shrink a little, and the floor is weighted down with concrete paving slabs to ‘ballast’ the liner.
